We want you to know that we watched the news about snowy Asheville on CNN here in China. It was shocking to see news of our home town the whole way over here!
Last night, we went to the silk market with our lovely friends, the Shuey's. It was crazy! Cathy knows exactly how to bargain. And boy is she good! I just stood back and watch as she bargained for the girls' Uggs. (Of course not Uggs for real, but who really cares?)
We went for pizza in a place similar to Pizza Hut. It was great! We are having a much better experience with food this time. But as we were getting ready to leave Mia stated with, "I have to go to the bathroom." I pulled her aside and said "You know we can't go anywhere except the room and we will be there shortly." I have learned the hard way that this is the safest way to take care of bathroom needs... public bathrooms can make you throw up - honestly, trust me! Mia kept insisting and I would not budge. On the way to the van with our driver, Mr. Wong, waiting, Ella started saying "now now" which Kevin now realizes means "Pee Pee"... Mr. Wong picked her up and let her go to the bathroom behind the van. Kevin joined in with Mia and they both did their business. We thought it was so nice of him to do that with Ella - has two girls at home himself. AND it is just a picture of how cultures view things differently.
Another interesting thing is the use of the car horn... We use it for hi, hello, see ya later... Well here it means "I am driving toward you and if you don't move I WILL run over you!" And they are serious about it!
