Times They Are A-Changing!!

Time! We were supposed to meet our guide in the lobby at 11:00 to go eat lunch. We got up at 8:00 to go down to the breakfast bar to eat. We hurried to get ready so we could get down to breakfast before it closed. We got there about 9:30 and it closes at 10:00. We ate and came back to the room, put the strollers together and just played around. Have I mentioned how the size of our room changes every day? It is so much smaller than when we arrived:)

At 11:00 we went down and our guide never showed up! For an hour and a half we waitied and no guide. We thought something must have happened because she was so dependable and considerate. We finally gave up waiting and went out to walk a bit in the bitter cold. We did not walk far and came back.... still no guide. We came back to the room to put the girls down for a nap.
At 1:00 on the dot, she called and was down the the waiting area, wondering if we were coming. We told her that we had waited for an hour and a half. So Kevin went to the lobby to talk with her and she said that it was just now 11:00! She showed him her watch. Kevin didn't believe it because we had checked my watch which is an hour behind... but I always add an hour to it because of China time! We thought our room clock was right, so Kevin asked to see someone else's watch in the lobby and guess what? Either it was a nationwide conspiracy against us or WE WERE WRONG. Every clock said 11:00!! His Blackberry hadn't switched over to China time and my watch was wrong. So I guess we really got up at 6:00 thinking it was 8:00. Our days and nights and time are so messed up over here. And have I told you how small our room is???

  1. That is hilarious guys! I can so imagine how that would happen!
Hey, do you happen to be traveling with any other families? There was a sweetie on that list that we were on the waiting list for, and I would love to know that she is with her new family. She was 8 years old (maybe 9 now) with Cerebral Palsy.
Do you get to visit the orphanage?
