The Gardens... Maybe Not

We got up and had a great breakfast at the White Swan. We ran into many more American families. After traveling without a full travel group this time, it was nice to see American faces that spoke English. As we were sitting by the window I noticed it was raining a little but didn't think much about it.

We continued with our plan to visit the gardens for the day. But when we got outside, it looked like another typhoon. The winds were horrible and it was much colder. After all of our thrill over being in the tropical climate, Kevin had to go back and drag out their coats again. It was by now pouring the rain and the wind was blowing like crazy.

When we got to the gardens, everything was flooded as we got out of the van. Erin is our guide in Guangzhou so she was with us. We had 3 large umbrellas and 2 strollers and 3 adults and 2 kids. We were all soaked within minutes. There was only 1 shelter and it was a greenhouse with beautiful flowers inside, but we had to walk a little bit to get there. Everyone else was trying to get there also. So we just love these gardens but yikes. The flowers are amazing and beautiful if we could enjoy them. So forget it!

By the way, Kevin has a perfect description of Ella - a cross between "Annie" and "Dennis the Mennis"! That's her! Honestly! Wait until you meet her! We thought we had our hands full with Mia! Little did we know...
